Our goal was to have fun. And I think we did. Just kidding--we did. It was an adventure as a family of 4. From getting out of the house at 12:30pm, Rody missing a nap, breastfeeding in the corner of the turtle exhibit, I'd say it went well... *smile*

This 'n That
Our hearts and freezer are overflowing! Our freezer is overflowing with about 50 feedings of breastmilk bags...I don't know where to put them all--
And it's full with about a good 10 homecooked meals/casseroles/sides made by some of my sweet coworkers in our praying life group. We started a little praying life group/bible study this year. It has been amazing to get to know many of my coworkers on a spiritual level..what a blessing...and they sent a literal carload of food to our home on Monday...
And our hearts are full of baby girl and toddler boy love...
She changes everyday. She is already getting some chubs on her bones...

And she is close to starting to "coo" and talk to us

Anna Kate: Three Weeks Old
Wow...time does really seem to fly....Anna Kate is three weeks old today! She is still a great baby...sleepy very well throughout the night (at 5-6 hours stretches, with another 3 or 4 hour stretch through the morning hours). She is nursing fabulously too...and this time around I have a freezer full of milk already. I got mastitis with Rody two times in 6 weeks because lactation consultants told me not to pump...well, with her, she is satisfied with just one side, so most feedings I pump the other side...and well, I literally could feed a village! She actually sort of enjoyed her bath last night...

Anna Kate 2 weeks old
Caleb came up for the day on Sunday. He is Anna Kate's first aunt or uncle to meet her!
Anna Kate is two weeks old today! It is crazy to think about for me...I'm still feeling remarkably well for 2 weeks out and she is still sleeping great at night! I think she would sleep a straight 8 hours at night if I would let her. I set my alarm at about the 5.5-6 hour mark for her first in the night feeding...then she will sleep another 4 hour stretch before we start her day feedings of every 3 hours or so...
Sunday was also our first time back to church in two weeks. It was definitely different trying to get ourselves ready and two children...we had 2 kids and about 4 different bags/purses that we carried around...it was quite an ordeal. But, we made it to church on time and Anna Kate did great...I had to slip out just as the sermon was starting to feed her, but I was not alone in the nursing mom's room--there were about 4 other ladies with their infants in there with me....
And our "almost" two year old boy...he is still just 22 months...I don't want it to speed up at all. He is speaking in sentences now and definitely expresses what he wants. He loves to play with his cars, blocks, and trains. He also loves playing in his fire truck. He gives the moose, duck, and bear rides in his fire truck...He is so sweet to Anna Kate as well..always giving her kisses and hugs. He wants to make sure she always has her blanket and paci as well. He is also a good helper in that he throws away some of her diapers for me...he loves to put anything in the "uck" as he says. It is definitely a challenge to balance my time on two children. And Rody takes advantage of the times that I am feeding Anna Kate to try to "test" us...we're working on it. He is just so sweet and getting more independent (which makes me kinda sad...)

Siblings
We've been enjoying some low key days at home. The weather has kept us in mostly, but I don't really mind at this point. Rody has been adjusting to life as a big brother. He is very sweet to Anna Kate and for that we are thankful...
I'm not sure why there is a weird shadow at the bottom of this picture, but it shows her sweet face
Rody was enjoying tummy time with his sister last night...along with "lamb and duck"...
It is so sweet to watch his face as he looks at her...he is so expressive anyways, but it is just priceless. He likes to point out all of her facial features...nose, eyes, ears, etc...
