Legacy. Our children are a part of a legacy...on both sides of our families. Randy and I have been blessed to have fathers who stand upon the Word of God and led their families according to that word. We are so thankful. The pictures below show just a part of that legacy...

Celebration

Randy and I celebrated 5 years of marriage yesterday. 5 years. I don't know if that time period feels long or short...it just seems like a milestone. In 5 years we've experienced many things....happy times, hard times, celebratory times....the best thing of these five years is our two beautiful kids...we are blessed...

We're Back!

Just a quick drop in to say "we're back"!

We had a wonderful time frolicking on uninhabited islands, sandbars, beaches, and the pool...and here are a few sneak peaks to upcoming posts....whenever I can get them done!

Comparisons

Okay, I know that are children look a lot alike. However, we are seeing more differences as Anna Kate gets older. But, looking over rody's pics at 4 months and pics I took today of AK, I realized just how much they do look alike...can you tell who is who? Anna Kate: 4 months old

Like I've said before, am I really typing the words "4 months old"? Time goes by quickly most days...and months seem to go by even more quickly. I am officially home for the summer now. I have 11 weeks off (nice, I know). I am going to work 4 of those weeks (only 20 total days I tell myself) at school directing a summer camp. The money is so good I couldn't pass it up and it still gives me 7 weeks off--very nice---so, we are home this week. We plan to leave Friday or Saturday and stop at the Barnett's for the weekend before continuing on to Fripp Island for a week of island fun with my family....can't wait!

Back to Anna Kate---4 months old today!

I'm not exactly sure how much she weighs...she doesn't have a well check until she is 5 months old...but I'm guessing close to 16 pounds. She likes to play with her hands and feet and enjoys toys now. She is definitely putting everything in her mouth these days. Her sleeping is still great. She goes down between 8:30 and 9 and wakes up for a feeding sometime between 4 and 7 am..just depends. But, after that feeding she will sleep until at least 8:30 and many days until 10am...

Gotta cut this post short...children need me!

There is something about having a daughter that makes me more in touch with my womanhood...It's weird...but I love dressing her up and I like to accessorize more and wear makeup more often....

ABC's

We've been working on our ABC's. Rody recognizes many of his letters and has said them in combination as well. Coming home from church today we learned that he knows ALL of them...it may be completely normal for a just turned 2 year old to know and recite his ABC's...I have no idea...but it amazed us! Here he is after we promised him some ice cream if he did it for the camera. This child speaks food...ha!

summer begins!

I'm excited for several reasons. One, I got a new laptop (through school) that is so nice...has windows 7 and I LOVE it...so much faster, etc...

Two, tomorrow is my last day of teaching for this school year..yeah!

Three, my throwers did really well at the state track meet today. One of my throwers got first in the discus with a huge PR and 2nd in the shot put (she is a sophomore)...

Anna Kate continues to grow/change everyday! She can now consistantly suck her thumb...it is her left thumb...Rody sucks his right thumb...she is seriously the happiest, most laid back, adorable baby! She hardly ever cries and is content to just hang out and watch life go on around her...we love her so much....

I was feeling bad because I haven't bought her any type of toy or new item...but I knew she would love this floor play mat where you can hang things above her...and she does love it...she can grab things now and is pulling them into her mouth. She also is so close to rolling over from back to front...and she is scooting herself about a foot or so when on the floor...

Rody

Rody and I were out playing in the yard the other evening when my friend and neighbor, Tammy, came out as well..she's got a swanky camera and loves photography, so she snapped a few spontaneous shots...

I think the boy needs a haircut...we are going for the curly surfer look...I can't stand thinking of cutting those curls!

Trying to blow on it...doesn't realize that this flower's petals don't blow off easily...

Rody, if I could place you in a time capsule I would do so right now in a heartbeat...to have the ability to pull your two year old self out every once in a while would be priceless
