Rody update

I am officially on summer break, so hopefully we will have more consistant postings again! Here are some updated pics of Rody.
I know, I know... I went to UGA, so why does he have on a Clemson onesie? You'll have to ask his father....

Lots and lots of smiles and giggles these days!

This picture literally "says" it all...

Starting to drool a lot more! Bibs are a must these days

Here he is with mom and dad at Randy's graduation!

We've got a big boy!

Rody had his 2 month check up yesterday. Randy and I were both interested to see what he is weighing these days...and we were both underestimating the weight of baby fat! He is a hefty 13 lbs. 10 oz. at 9 weeks old! and he is 24 inches long. WOW! He is getting so big.

So, I was curious and asked the doctor if it is possible that I could be overfeeding him (didn't know if that could happen when breastfeeding). He looked at me and was like "uh, yeah, does he spit up a lot?" My response; "Um, yeah, he does". OOPS... He said most babies his age eat around 3 oz. at a meal and Rody is averaging like 5-7 oz. a meal. I mean I think he would just get enough with 3 oz. to make him mad--no way that boy would be satisfied.

Rody got some shots yesterday- which was horrible- I hate seeing our baby in pain. It is pitiful and I would do anything to make the pain my own and not his ( I totally understand this now as a parent). Needless to say he was quite fussy and tired last night. I must have been dreaming hard because all my dreams were of Rody spitting up a ton because I was over feeding him and him getting hurt (probably because of the shots, etc).

I cried when I left him and Randy this morning...it was so hard. Keep praying that the Lord would provide a way for me to just be a mommy for a few years!

We will post some pics in the next couple of days!

Precious things

Sometimes when I am feeding Rody I will look down and his feet will be crossed like this. It is like he is totally relaxing and having a cold glass of lemonade on the beach...it is so sweet and makes me smile...

Bath time. He is getting too big for the sink. We will have to move to the big tub soon, but there is something so sweet about giving your baby a bath. Rody loves baths.
Cuddle time after the bath. We wrap him in a towel and hug him close to warm him up. He smells so good and clean.

Take time out to enjoy all the precious moments and little things in your life!

Crazy Week

It has been a crazy week. I (Katie) had to go back to work for the last week of school and Randy has been proofing his paper and taking care of Rody! So, here is a list of what has been going on this week and new things about Rody!
  • Katie's been a working mom this week and really wants to find a way to stay at home and raise children! Be praying...
  • Randy is quite the stay at home dad! He has enjoyed this time with Rody!
  • Grandma Kia came for a visit Tuesday- Thursday. It was great to have her here!
  • Randy brought Rody to see me on Monday and Tuesday. Grandma Kia brough Rody to see me on Wednesday during the day
  • Rody rolled over again! And Grandma got to see it this time...he's a genius! LOL
  • Rody is eating consistantly 6 oz at a feeding...we know this because I am having to pump some and he takes a bottle when I am at work....he is growing so quickly!
  • Rody is communicating! He loves to make oohs and ahhs with his voice, is starting to giggle, have happy screams, and smile a TON! It melts your heart everytime he does it!

Randy will graduate next Saturday, May 31st! We will post some updated pictures and a really great video of Rody talking to Grandma Kia soon!

Veryll took pictures again!

I just had to share some photos that our friend Veryll took of Rody. They are priceless~
The following photos were taken when Rody was 1.5 weeks old

The following pictures were taken when Rody was 5 weeks old! He changes so quickly.

What a sweet face!

My mom painted this sign for Rody. It hangs in his room. Thanks, mom!

I love this face!
Such a sweet smile!
This bib is a little big now--looks like a t-shirt on him!
Just starting to smile!
This is the "I'm so serious" face. We were beginning to lose him to sleepy land at this point

Enjoy!

Thank you so much, Veryll, for taking these pictures!
